Obverse description Central device consists of a stylized radiant sun, depicted as a large central disk surrounded by alternating long and short triangular rays extending to the inner field. The legend REPUBLICA PERUANA curves along the upper periphery in incuse Latin capital letters, while the date appears in the lower exergue. The design is rendered in a plain, utilitarian style characteristic of mid-twentieth century Peruvian minor coinage.
