| Obverse description | Plain cream carton stock within a single-rule rectangular border. The district name 'DISTRITO DE MATAMOROS.' is typeset in bold capitals across the upper portion, with 'EDO. DE PUEBLA.' immediately below. The central field carries the letterpress legend 'VALE POR' above the large numeral '1' and the denomination 'CENTAVO', alongside a red handstamp series designation 'Serie F.' and a red printed serial number. At the lower margin appears the manuscript-style printed name 'Augusto Pérez Darget.' with the title 'Pte. MUNICIPAL' beneath.
