Obverse description The Dominican national coat of arms occupies the central field, depicting a quartered shield flanked by laurel and palm branches. The shield displays a cross, trophies of flags and lances, and a Bible, rendered in fine relief. The mintmaster's initial 'E' appears below the shield near the base, accompanied by a small five-pointed star. A beaded inner border frames the design, with the circular legend 'REPUBLICA DOMINICANA' arcing along the upper periphery in Latin characters.
