Obverse description Central field displays the national coat of arms of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, featuring a hydroelectric power station and mountain landscape beneath a radiant five-pointed star, flanked by sheaves of rice tied with a ribbon at the base and oak branches. Reverse description The large numeral '1' dominates the central field, with the Hangul denomination 전 (chon) inscribed directly below. The entire design is encircled by a continuous geometric border of interlocking Greek-key pattern motifs, lending a formal specimen character to the piece.
