| Reverse description | Central oval medallion bearing a crowned and robed effigy of Queen Elizabeth II facing slightly left, flanked by two supporters: a robed figure holding a sceptre to the left and a sea-lion rampant to the right, both rendered in high relief beneath a royal crown. The territorial arms of Saint Helena are thus evoked in heraldic style. The inscriptions ST HELENA and ONE CROWN appear below the central medallion, while the commemorative legend 1953 · 25th ANNIVERSARY OF THE CORONATION · 1978 arcs around the full periphery of the coin. |
