| Reverse description | A rampant lion passant to the left occupying the central field, with the date appearing at the conclusion of the encircling Latin legend. The countermark of Grand Master António Manoel de Vilhena de Vasconcellos, applied in Malta circa 1622–1623, depicting his heraldic coat of arms, is visible in the field before the lion's chest. A test cut (assay mark) is also present on the flan, consistent with verification of silver content by Maltese monetary authorities. |
