Obverse description Central field bearing a stylised trident or floral device rendered in bold hammered relief, typical of the crude artistic convention employed for small-denomination copper coinage of the Shah dynasty of Nepal. The design elements are heavily stylised and compressed to fit the small flan, with the motif surrounded by a plain border. The overall execution is characteristic of hand-struck Dam coinage of the early nineteenth century Kathmandu mint, showing irregular flan preparation and die wear consistent with high-volume circulation strikes.
