| Obverse description | Small hammered silver dam of irregular flan, bearing the royal legend in Pracalit Nepal Lipi (Newari) script arranged in four quadrants divided by a cruciform design. The characters of the inscription श्री रणजीत मल्ल, identifying the issuing ruler Ranajit Malla of Bhaktapur, fill the available field. The lettering is boldly struck in high relief, typical of the crude but distinctive hammered coinage of the Bhaktapur mint. The flan is irregular and slightly cupped, consistent with hand-struck small-denomination coins of the Malla period. |
