| Obverse description | Crude hammered field bearing Devanagari inscription in the central area. The legend reads 'श्री सु रेन्द्र', referencing the royal name of King Surendra Bikrama Shah. The script is arranged within an irregular circular flan typical of hand-struck Nepalese dam coinage of this period. The lettering is bold and deeply incused, characteristic of the primitive striking technique employed at the Nepalese mint during the mid-nineteenth century. |
