| Reverse description | Central device comprises the early arms of Buenos Aires: an oval cartouche depicting a Phrygian liberty cap mounted on a pike, set against horizontally lined upper field and a plain lower field, the whole surmounted by a radiant rising sun with alternating straight and wavy rays issuing from a facial sun above the shield. The arms are flanked on either side by a symmetrical laurel wreath, the branches tied at the base with a ribbon bow. The border is formed by a continuous raised bead, and the field is otherwise unlettered. |
