| Additional information |
Stjepan II Kotromanić ruled the Banate of Bosnia at its medieval peak, expanding its territory significantly southward and westward while navigating between Hungarian suzerainty and Serbian pressure. His coinage, modeled on contemporary Serbian and Ragusan monetary conventions, represents one of the earliest organized issues from Bosnian territory. The Jovanović 1 attribution places this among the foundational references for medieval Bosnian numismatics, a field still being systematically cataloged.
