| Obverse description | Central field bears a multi-line Kufic Arabic religious inscription arranged in horizontal registers, containing the shahada and related formulae. The inscription is enclosed within a plain inner circle, surrounded by a secondary concentric border bearing a continuous Arabic marginal legend in Kufic script. An outer dentilated or rope-pattern rim frames the entire design. The flan is irregular and slightly ragged at the periphery, consistent with hand-struck hammered coinage. A suspension hole is pierced near the upper edge, indicating later use as a pendant. |
