| Obverse description | The full Barbadian coat of arms occupies the central field, depicting a shield supported by a dolphin to the left and a pelican to the right, with a helmet and mantling above surmounted by an arm holding two crossed stalks of sugarcane. The national motto 'PRIDE AND INDUSTRY' appears on a ribbon scroll at the base of the arms. The dates '1966' and '1976' flank the shield to left and right respectively, commemorating the tenth anniversary of independence. Two tridents, symbols of Barbados, appear in the lower field to either side. The country name 'BARBADOS' is inscribed in large letters along the lower periphery, with a beaded border encircling the entire design. |

| Reverse description | A highly detailed flying fish leaps dynamically to the left across the central field, its fins fully extended in characteristic flight posture, rendered in high relief against a lightly textured background suggesting water. A second smaller flying fish is depicted airborne in the upper field above the main figure, enhancing the sense of movement. The denomination 'ONE DOLLAR' is inscribed in bold letters along the left and lower periphery. The engraver's initials 'PN' appear discreetly in the field. A beaded border runs along the inner edge of the seven-sided coin. |
