Additional information

Issued to mark the 400th anniversary of the King James Bible, authorized in 1604 by James VI of Scotland — newly crowned James I of England — and completed by a committee of approximately 47 scholars working across six companies at three locations over seven years. The KJV was not an immediate triumph; it spent decades competing with the Geneva Bible, which remained the preferred text of Puritans well into the mid-seventeenth century.

Fiji's involvement is purely commercial — the Reserve Bank has issued a long series of silver-plated commemoratives on third-party themes with no domestic historical connection.
