Additional information

Liberia's early 2000s dollar series targeting European currency collectors arrived just as the eurozone was making its physical debut — euro banknotes and coins entered circulation on January 1, 2002, rendering twelve national currencies obsolete almost overnight. These pieces were produced speculatively for the souvenir and collector market, with no meaningful connection to Liberian monetary policy.

The Netherlands guilder ceased legal tender status on January 28, 2002.
