Additional information

The lion dance tradition carried into Fiji's cultural calendar by the country's Indo-Fijian and smaller Chinese-Fijian communities reflects migration patterns stretching back to indentured labor contracts of the late nineteenth century, though the Chinese population in Fiji has always remained numerically small. Fiji's willingness to issue numismatic silver for foreign markets under its own authority has made the Reserve Bank a prolific platform for themed collector issues, particularly those targeting Asian New Year gift-giving cycles.

KM#1101.1 distinguishes this colourized variant from at least one non-colourized release in the same series.
