| Obverse description | The national arms of the Federated States of Micronesia occupies the copper-nickel centre field, depicting a breadfruit plant emerging from the sea above a scroll bearing the motto PEACE · UNITY · LIBERTY, flanked by four five-pointed stars representing the four island states. The date 1979, marking the establishment of the federation, appears in the lower field below the central device.
