Los Coyotes is a Cahuilla-Cupeño band whose reservation sits in the San Ysidro Mountains of San Diego County — one of the most isolated in California, without running water or electricity on much of its land until recent decades. Their entry into the tribal silver round market followed a broader pattern of smaller bands issuing bullion pieces after the mid-2010s expansion of private mint partnerships, particularly with APMEX-affiliated producers.
These issues carry no federal authorization under the American Eagle program and are not struck at U.S. Mint facilities.
