| Obverse description | The national coat of arms of Belize occupies the central field, depicting a quartered shield bearing crossed woodcutting tools and a sailing vessel, supported by two mestizo woodcutters standing on a grassy mound, with a mahogany tree rising behind the shield and a wreath of olive branches encircling the entire device. The motto ribbon at the base of the arms bears the legend SUB UMBRA FLOREO. The country name BELIZE arcs along the upper rim within a beaded border, and the date 1984 appears in the lower field, also within the beaded border. The mintmark FM, denoting the Franklin Mint, appears to the right of the date on the lettering. |
