Reverse description The reverse field is entirely typographic, carrying a four-line inscription in bold raised Latin capitals reading T. ERTEL / IN / MÜNCHEN with the date 1833 positioned in the lower exergual area. The circular peripheral legend reads PROBE EINES PRÄGWERKES (meaning 'Trial of a Minting Works'), arching around the upper portion of the flan. The overall design serves as an advertisement for Traugott Ertel's Munich minting establishment, demonstrating the capability of his coining press. The plain field between legends shows light die polish, and the lettering is well-spaced and deeply incuse in style consistent with German workshop proofs of the period.
