| Reverse description | The reverse bears a Tamil legend occupying the upper portion of the field, reading நாகப்பட்டணம் (Nagapattinam), the Tamil name of the issuing mint, rendered in bold raised characters. A horizontal line divides the field below the inscription, with a largely plain lower register beneath it. The lettering is crudely struck, consistent with the hammered production technique and the irregular flan typical of VOC coinage from this South Indian mint. |
