Reverse description The crowned royal arms of Spain, rendered as a quartered shield, are displayed centrally and flanked by the denomination mark. The shield is encircled by the collar of the Order of the Golden Fleece, with the whole design enclosed within an outer ring bearing the reverse legend along with the mint mark and assayer's initials. The composition reflects the standard colonial Spanish escudo type introduced under the Bourbon reform coinage.
