Obverse description Small armored bust of Fernando VI facing right, rendered in the crudely stylized macuquina tradition, with flowing long hair falling to the shoulder. The effigy occupies the central field of the irregularly shaped flan, with the surrounding Latin legend partially visible around the periphery. The date 1751 appears within the legend. The overall die-work is characteristic of the Guatemala mint's hammered coinage of the mid-eighteenth century, with uneven strike and irregular flan edges typical of cob-style production.
