Obverse description Hammered copper flan of irregular round form displaying a bold Arabic legend in raised relief across the central field, the inscription arranged in two or three lines with characteristic Bijapur calligraphic style. The lettering is heavily stylized, with individual characters showing prominent raised strokes and interstitial pitting typical of hammered Deccan coinage of the mid-sixteenth century. The field surrounding the legend is uneven with natural flan irregularities and patchy blue-green patination overlying the copper substrate. No border or decorative frame is evident, consistent with the utilitarian character of Adil Shahi base-metal issues. The overall strike is typical of the period, with moderate die wear and characteristic surface porosity.
