Obverse description The Virgin Mary (Theotokos) enthroned in frontal aspect, seated on a high-backed throne and holding the Christ Child before her; the composition is rendered in a Byzantine hieratic style characteristic of medieval Adriatic coinage. The letter 'M' (an abbreviation for Maria) appears to the left of the enthroned figure in the field.

Reverse description The Agnus Dei (Lamb of God) depicted passant left with head turned to face right, bearing a nimbus and staff-cross, all within a circular border enclosing the surrounding legend. The inscription, reading in Latin, identifies the coin as struck in the name of Dulcigno and invokes the Lamb of God in a devotional formula typical of medieval Adriatic civic coinage.
