Obverse description Left-facing effigy of Marianne wearing a winged Phrygian cap, rendered in the classic French Republican style by engraver L. Bazor. Four sailing vessels appear in the background field, evoking the maritime character of the territory. The date is inscribed in the lower exergue. The legend REPUBLIQUE FRANCAISE arcs along the upper periphery, with the engraver's signature L.BAZOR and the mint mark GB appearing near the base of the portrait.
