| Obverse description | Plain field bearing the bold raised legend SYRIE arranged along the upper arc, with the large numeral 1 at centre flanked by two small rosette or asterisk ornaments at either side, and the word PIASTRE inscribed along the lower arc. The lettering is rendered in a broad, slightly crude sans-serif style consistent with wartime emergency pattern production. No date or mint mark appears on this side. |
