| Obverse description | Central shield bearing the Este eagle displayed, surmounted by an open crown with fleurs-de-lis and pearled points. The escutcheon is set within an ornate oval cartouche flanked by decorative foliate elements. The peripheral Latin legend runs along the inner border, which is defined by a beaded or toothed outer rim characteristic of hammered Renaissance coinage.
