Martin Garzez served as Grand Master from 1595 to 1601, and copper coinage of his reign was struck on Malta primarily for local charitable and commercial circulation — the Order's financial machinery ran on silver and gold, leaving the small copper issues to wear hard and survive poorly. Restelli 20 is among the more frequently encountered types of his tenure, though high-grade survivors are genuinely scarce given the population using them.
