Reverse description Central field features a bold floriated cross pattée in the Tournois tradition, enclosed within a beaded inner circle, recalling the design of the original French gros tournois on which this coinage type was modelled. Within the inner circle, the legend TVRONVS FRANCFVRT is inscribed around the cross, identifying both the coin type and the issuing city. The outer legend, separated by a beaded border, reads + SIT NOME DNI DEI NOSTRI BENEDICT, a devotional inscription invoking the blessed name of the Lord our God. The lettering is executed in Gothic script typical of early 16th-century German hammered silver coinage. The plain edge and flat fields are consistent with hand-struck production at the Frankfurt Mint.
