Obverse description Central field dominated by the VOC monogram — the interlaced cipher of the Vereenigde Oostindische Compagnie — rendered in bold raised relief. The monogram consists of a large V surmounted by a prominent O with a C intertwined, all set within a plain circular border. The device is crudely but distinctly struck, consistent with hammered copper coinage produced for local circulation in the VOC's South Indian trading territories. No additional legend or peripheral inscription is present.
