The 1938 1 Koruna was issued under extraordinary pressure. By the time these notes entered circulation, the Munich Agreement had already stripped Czechoslovakia of the Sudetenland, and the rump state's currency infrastructure was operating on borrowed time. The Prague-printed series continued as an act of institutional continuity more than economic necessity.
Pick 27 is the last 1 Koruna type issued before the March 1939 German occupation dissolved the republic entirely. Notes from this printing were subsequently overstamped or withdrawn as the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia established its own currency regime.
