Part of Turkey's "Planet" circulation series launched in 2022, this aluminium kuruş belongs to a set depicting the eight planets of the solar system plus Earth — an unusual choice to include Earth as a named subject rather than implied home of the issuer. The series represents a rare instance of the Darphane producing thematic circulation coinage aimed at a broad public rather than collector sets, though in practice most examples were pulled from change immediately upon release.
