Obverse description The Peruvian national coat of arms occupies the central field, depicting a divided shield with a vicuna at upper left, a cinchona tree at upper right, and a cornucopia over a field of natural abundance in the lower third, all surmounted by a radiant sun. The shield is flanked by laurel and palm branches tied at the base. The circular legend REPUBLICA PERUANA - LIMA runs along the upper periphery, and the date appears in the exergue below the shield. A beaded border frames the entire design.

Reverse description A right-facing draped bust of an indigenous figure, interpreted as a personification of Liberty or an Inca princess, wearing a close-fitting cap adorned with a feather and a circular ear ornament. The legend VERDAD I JUSTICIA is divided across the upper field to either side of the effigy, and the denomination UNA LIBRA curves along the lower periphery. The portrait is rendered in high relief with fine modeling of the facial features and hair, enclosed within a beaded border.
