| Obverse description | A colourful lithographed vignette occupies the upper portion of the note, presenting a perspective view of the prisoner-of-war camp at Lichtenhorst: a central dirt road flanked by rows of red-roofed barrack buildings recedes toward the horizon, bordered by telegraph poles and wire fencing. The issuer name 'Lichtenhorst' is printed in bold Gothic lettering across the top, with the denomination '1 Mark' repeated in the upper left and right corners. A lower text panel carries the scrip legend in Gothic script, the authorising signature of the Kantinen Verwaltung, and a notice restricting use of the voucher to within the camp. |
