| Obverse description | Central field dominated by a stylized standing figure, likely a royal or divine effigy rendered in the conventional South Asian hammered tradition, with strongly raised relief. Above the figure, a crescent or symbolic device is visible at the upper register. Flanking the central motif, Sinhala script legends appear on the left field, while a column of pellets or decorative globules occupies the right field. The coin exhibits the characteristic irregular flan and bold, somewhat crude relief typical of medieval Sri Lankan copper coinage of the Polonnaruwa period. |
