Obverse description Plain copper field surrounds a raised square frame at center, within which a circular perforation passes through the flan, evoking the form of traditional Chinese cash coinage. The circumferential Latin legend reads 'HONG-KONG' at the upper arc and 'ONE MIL.' at the lower arc, separated on each side by a raised dot, all set between two concentric raised rims. No effigy is present; the design is purely typographic and geometric in character.

Reverse description The reverse mirrors the obverse in its central motif, displaying the same raised square frame surrounding the central circular hole. Four large Chinese characters are disposed around the perforation in the cardinal positions — 香 (above), 一 (right), 港 (below), 文 (left) — reading 'Hong Kong One Mil' in the traditional clockwise manner associated with Chinese cash coins. The field is plain and bounded by two concentric raised rims, with no additional ornamentation.
