This is a novelty item, not a banknote. The United States has never issued a 1,000,000 dollar denomination in any form — the largest note ever produced by the Bureau of Engraving and Printing for general use was the $10,000, with $100,000 Gold Certificates printed in 1934 strictly for Federal Reserve internal transfers. "Legends Series" million-dollar pieces featuring the Dalai Lama are privately manufactured souvenirs with no legal tender status and no issuing authority backing of any kind.
