| Obverse description | Central field bears a multi-lobed cartouche containing Devanagari inscriptions arranged in horizontal registers, giving the royal name and titles of King Bhupatindra Malla. The legend fills the interior of the cartouche in bold, deeply struck characters. A secondary legend in Devanagari script runs around the periphery of the coin within a beaded border that encircles the entire design. The overall composition is characteristic of the Bhaktapur Malla hammered coinage, with tightly arranged epigraphic elements dominating the field. |
