The flat field shows characteristic casting texture with natural patination, and the coin is bordered by a plain raised outer rim.

Reverse description Round cast bronze reverse displaying a central square hole with a raised square rim. The field carries three Chinese characters arranged around the aperture: the mint-mark 戶 (Ho, Treasury Department) at the top, the series numeral 四 (four) to the right, and the character 光 (gwang, meaning 'light' or indicating a furnace designation) to the left, all cast in regular script.
