| Obverse description | The obverse bears a multi-line Arabic inscription filling the field, struck in the characteristic crude hammered style typical of provincial Ottoman coinage. The legend reads 'Struck in Tripoli West 1223' (AH), denoting the mint location and the Hijri regnal year of Sultan Mahmud II. The script is rendered in relief against a rough, uneven flan, with no border or decorative frame. The lettering is bold but somewhat irregular due to the hand-struck technique. |

| Reverse description | The reverse displays a six-pointed star (hexagram) formed by two interlocking triangles, enclosed within a looped or beaded circular border. Within the interstices of the hexagram, Arabic inscriptions denote the mint name 'Tripoli' and the regnal year '22', corresponding to the 22nd year of Sultan Mahmud II's reign. The design is deeply struck but shows the characteristic irregularity of hammered provincial Ottoman coinage. The flan edges are uneven and the overall relief is bold. |
