Reverse description A fully rigged three-masted sailing ship, consistent with a late 18th-century man-of-war or merchantman, is depicted sailing to the right on stylized waves, with all sails billowing. Rocky outcroppings or land are faintly suggested in the right background, evoking the Bermudian coastline. The legend BERMUDA arcs across the upper field in bold raised Latin lettering, while the date 1793 appears in the lower exergual area beneath the vessel. A toothed border encircles the design. The composition is rendered in high relief, typical of Soho Mint proof strikings.
