Obverse description Heavily corroded obverse with multi-line legend in the field identifying the issuer as J. Taylor, bread and biscuit baker and family grocer, located at the Red House, corner of Danna and Raglan Streets, Ballarat. The lettering is arranged in stacked lines across the central field, with additional text in the outer legend, though surface degradation obscures fine detail.

Reverse description Reverse bears the standard Stokes wheatsheaf device (die A21/R1), heavily obscured by corrosion, with a surrounding legend and the date 1862 visible in the lower exergue area. The wheatsheaf motif and the patriotic legend are consistent with Stokes trade token production of this period.
