The merchant's name MILLER & DISMORR appears in large serif capitals along the upper periphery, with MELBOURNE in the same style along the lower periphery, both legends separated by a continuous beaded border encircling the field. The central field carries three lines of bold incuse serif lettering reading DRAPERS / HABERDASHERS & C / COLLINS.ST, identifying the firm's trade and address on Collins Street, Melbourne. The overall layout is plain and functional, consistent with the utilitarian character of Australian colonial trade tokens of the mid-nineteenth century. |
