| Obverse description | Left-facing bust effigy of George Washington, first President of the United States (1789–1797), occupies the central field. The motto "EN DIOS CREEMOS" (In God We Trust, in Spanish) and the word "LIBERTAD" appear alongside the portrait. The surrounding legend reads "ISLA DE PUERTO RICO" with the denomination "UNA PESETA" and the date "2009" completing the inscription. The mintmark "PRM" is incorporated within the lettering. The design echoes the style of the classic United States quarter dollar but adapted for Puerto Rican fantasy coinage. |
