| Obverse description | Left-facing draped bust of George Washington, first President of the United States (1789–1797), occupies the central field. The national motto "EN DIOS CREEMOS" (In God We Trust, rendered in Spanish) and the word "LIBERTAD" appear alongside the effigy. The surrounding legend reads "ISLA DE PUERTO RICO", with the face value "UNA PESETA" and the date "2009" completing the inscription. The mintmark "PRM" is incorporated within the lettering. |
