| Obverse description | The Cuban coat of arms occupies the central field, featuring the distinctive escutcheon with a royal palm, rising sun, and fasces, surmounted by the Phrygian cap atop a staff. The country name REPUBLICA DE CUBA arcs along the upper legend, while the denomination UN PESO appears along the lower legend. The silver fineness designation 900 FINO is inscribed on either side of the shield. The design is rendered in high relief with fine engraving characteristic of the work attributed to Philip Martiny. |
