Reverse description The large numeral '1' dominates the central field, with the denomination inscription 'UN PESO' arranged in two lines below it and the date below that. Flanking the numeral on both sides are two pendant clusters of copihue flowers (Lapageria rosea), Chile's national flower, rendered in fine detail with drooping bell-shaped blossoms and flowing stems that arch gracefully over the top of the design. The Santiago mint mark 'S' appears in small letters above the numeral '1'. The entire design is enclosed within a beaded inner border that follows the coin's circumference.
