The Tesorería General de Nicaragua — the national treasury rather than a central bank — issued these notes during a period when Nicaragua lacked any formal banking institution with reliable note-issuing authority. The American Bank Note Company was the prestige choice for Latin American governments in this period, and the contract reflects Nicaragua's attempt to project fiscal credibility through the quality of the paper itself.

Pick S107 falls within the "S" (Specialized) sequence, indicating regional or quasi-governmental issue rather than a primary national series. Whether these circulated widely or functioned mainly as treasury instruments for internal government transactions remains poorly documented.
