Comments

One of the rarest items in South American colonial numismatics. The Commandancia Politica y Militar de las Islas Malvinas was the Buenos Aires-appointed civil and military authority established on the islands in 1823 under Luis Vernet, and any paper currency attributed to this administration predates Britain's forcible expulsion of Argentine officials in January 1833 — giving these notes an effective issuing window of under a decade, with the political situation deteriorating sharply after 1829.

Documentation on this issue is extremely thin. Treat any attribution of specific printings, quantities, or circulation data with caution.
